Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just in the mood for a nice walk, East Asheville has a bunch of trails for all skill levels. Here are three of our top picks, from easy to challenging, each offering its own unique charm and stunning views.

Easy Trail: Blue Ridge Parkway - Folk Art Center to Visitor Center

  • Length: 1.5 miles (round trip)

  • Description: Looking for a nice, easy hike? The trail from the Folk Art Center to the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center is perfect for a leisurely stroll. It's a 1.5-mile round trip with some beautiful scenery along the way. Start your adventure at the Folk Art Center, where you can check out some cool crafts before heading out. The trail is well-kept and super relaxing, making it great for families or anyone wanting a peaceful walk in nature.

Moderate Trail: Warren Wilson College Trails

  • Length: 5 miles (various loops)

  • Description: Up for a bit more of a challenge? The Warren Wilson College Trails offer a moderate hike with several loop options totaling around 5 miles. These trails wind through lovely forests and meadows, featuring gentle slopes and moderate hills. You'll see lots of different plants and maybe even some wildlife. The trails are well-marked, so you can easily adjust your hike based on how much time and energy you have.

Difficult Trail: Craggy Pinnacle Trail

  • Length: 1.4 miles (round trip)

  • Description: For the adventurous types, the Craggy Pinnacle Trail is a must. It's only 1.4 miles round trip, but don’t let the short distance fool you—this trail is pretty steep! Located on the Blue Ridge Parkway, it takes you up to a summit with jaw-dropping panoramic views. The climb is tough but totally worth it for the amazing sights at the top. Be sure to bring your camera to capture those unforgettable views.

Plan Your Hiking Adventure

We love it when guests use our trails on-site to explore and “get lost,” but not too lost. But when you want to stretch your legs and get out for the day, these three trails should hold what you’re looking for. After your hike, come back to your cabin to relax and unwind, or grab a glass of something cold and a snack to enjoy fireside at the pavilion. Happy hiking!
